EN: adverb
Ah, the "how, when, where, and why" guy of the sentence squad. The adverb, or **adberbyo**, is the ultimate hype man. The verb is "running"? The adverb makes it "running *quickly*." The adjective is "beautiful"? The adverb makes it "*truly* beautiful." It's the part of speech that adds flavor, context, and a little bit of *chismis* to the action. Without it, sentences would be so bland, like sinigang without the asim.
From Spanish "adverbio" (adverb). It is the standard Filipino term for this part of speech.
A technical term used in grammar and linguistics, taught in Filipino language classes.
