"Atik" is old-school slang for money, like what your tito or lola might say. It's the 90s version of "kwarta" or "datung". Before G-Cash and online banking, you needed actual "atik" to buy your favorite street food. "Walang atik" means you're broke, a state many of us know too well before payday.
Slang, possibly a syllabic reversal of 'kita' (earnings) as 'taki', which evolved into 'atik'.
Primarily used in informal, colloquial settings. It is considered slang from the 1970s-90s era.
