This isn't your fancy, overpriced latte. This is *kapeng barako*, the coffee that will slap you awake and give you the energy to face EDSA traffic, your boss, and your 'di pa bayad na credit card bill. It's strong, unapologetic, and 100% Pinoy.
Named after the Spanish 'barraco' (boar) due to its strong, 'masculine' flavor and aroma.
Often used as 'kapeng barako'. It's a specific coffee varietal (Liberica) but the term is also used colloquially for any very strong black coffee.
🇺🇸 A hot cup of barako coffee is a great way to wake up in the morning.
