FIL: Ang halagang ibinabayad para sa serbisyo ng pagpapadala ng sulat o pakete sa pamamagitan ng post office.
EN: postage
Ah, postage. A word that feels almost as vintage as the post office itself. This is the 'shipping fee' of our parents' generation. Before LBC and J&T Express tracking numbers, there was the humble selyo (stamp) you bought with your **bayad sa koreo**. It's the cost of making sure your love letter (or your bill statement) gets to its destination.
From Tagalog "bayad" (payment) + "sa" (for) + Spanish "correo" (mail, post).
Now often replaced by "shipping fee" in modern contexts, but still the correct term for official postal services.
