The universal Filipino term for a male friend, buddy, or pal. It's the shortened, cooler version of "brother." You use it when you're asking for a favor ("Brad, pa-utang."), greeting a friend ("Uy, brad, kumusta?"), or calling out to some random guy whose name you don't know. It's friendlier than 'pare' and less formal than 'kuya'.
