/da-YÚ-han/
FIL: Isang tao na mula sa ibang bansa o lahi; hindi katutubo sa isang lugar; banyaga.
EN: foreigner; alien
Anyone who's not from 'Pinas. The tourist asking for directions to the nearest Jollibee, the expat in BGC, or even Superman (he's literally an alien). It's the standard, neutral term, unlike the more casual 'Kano' or the slightly dated 'banyaga'.
From 'dayo' (to visit or go to another place) + '-han' suffix, literally 'one who comes from another place'.
Can also mean 'stranger' or 'outsider' in a more local context, not necessarily from another country.
