The 'army of the land.' These are the soldiers with boots on the ground, the infantry. They're the main force you see in war movies, marching through jungles and cities. Basically, if 'hukbong-dagat' owns the water, 'hukbong-kati' owns the dry land.
A compound of 'hukbo' (army) and 'kati' (land, as opposed to sea).
Largely interchangeable with 'hukbong-katihan', though the latter is more common in official contexts.
