EN: hippie; cool, laid-back person
The original "chill." Before there was "walwal" or "sana all," there was "jeproks." This is 70s Pinoy slang for a cool, laid-back, hippie-type dude. Think long hair, bell-bottoms, a guitar, and a "peace, man" attitude. The word itself is a reversed spelling of "project," as in "Project 2 & 4" in QC where this subculture thrived.
Primarily associated with the 1970s and Manila Sound era. Now used nostalgically or to describe someone with a retro, bohemian vibe.
🇺🇸 My dad's style in the old photo was really that of a jeproks.
🇺🇸 They were the jeproks who would hang out in the park and play the guitar.
