/ka-i-ka-i-LAN LA-mang/
FIL: Tumutukoy sa isang panahon na hindi pa nagtatagal mula sa kasalukuyan; kamakailan lamang.
EN: just recently; only a short while ago
This is the ultimate "fresh pa" or "bagong-bago lang" phrase. It's when something happened so recently, the "chismis" is still hot. "Kai-kailan lamang sila nag-break," means the wound is still fresh, the IG posts are probably still up. It's more emphatic than just "kailan lang."
Reduplication of the first syllable of `kailan` (when) + `lamang` (only/just). `ka-` + `kailan` -> `kaikailan`.
ROOT MEANING: when
An adverbial phrase of time. The hyphen is standard.
