That purple (or sometimes green) fruit that's super sweet and milky inside. You know you've eaten one when your lips get all sticky. It's called a star apple because when you slice it crosswise, the seeds make a perfect star pattern. It's a childhood favorite, often picked straight from a neighbor's tree (with permission, of course... hopefully).
