FIL: Ang likidong nagmumula sa bibig; laway na inilabas o idinura.
EN: spit; spittle
It's the stuff you spit out. Gross, but a daily reality. Seeing *lura* on the sidewalk is a classic Pinoy street experience. It's also what you metaphorically do to someone you despise (duraan sa mukha). In the age of COVID, it became public enemy number one.
Often used interchangeably with `dura`. `Lura` is the noun, `lumura` or `ilura` is the verb.
🇵🇭 Bawal magtapon ng lura sa sahig ng bus.
🇺🇸 It is forbidden to dispose of spit on the bus floor.
🇵🇭 May bakas ng lura sa kanyang damit.
🇺🇸 There was a trace of spittle on his shirt.
