EN: to go; to go to (a place)
The most basic Filipino travel verb. Before there was Waze, your tita would just say, "Magpunta ka sa may kanto, tapos tanong ka ulit." It's the command your boss gives you for an "urgent" meeting that could've been an email.
From Spanish 'punta' (point, tip), but the meaning shifted to 'destination' or 'direction' in Filipino.
Often followed by 'sa' to indicate the destination.
🇺🇸 Let's go to the market to buy ingredients for our dish.
🇺🇸 Where did you go last night that we couldn't contact you?
