/pa-A-bot/
FIL: Isang pakiusap na iabot o ipasa ang isang bagay. Karaniwang ginagamit sa anyong pautos.
EN: please hand/pass (something)
The official word for when something is just out of your reach. It's the battle cry at every Filipino dining table: "**Paabot** ng patis!" (Please pass the fish sauce!). It's a polite command, a shortcut for "Pakiaabot mo sa akin" (Please pass it to me). Master this, and you'll never have to stand up for the salt shaker again.
From Tagalog `pa-` (request prefix) + `abot` (reach).
Often used as a standalone command followed by the object being requested. It's a contraction of 'pakiaabot'.
