This is the fancy, deep Tagalog word for "investment." Before "crypto," "stocks," and "#FinancialLiteracy," this was the term. It sounds like something a character in a historical drama would say. It's the act of putting your money where you hope it'll make more money, like starting a business or buying property. The more common term today is the Spanish-derived "pamumuhunan" or simply "investment."
From `ari` (property) and `puhunan` (capital). `Arimuhunan` itself means 'capital'. The `pag-` prefix and reduplication of the first vowel `a` create a noun for the act of investing.
A very formal and somewhat archaic term. "Pamumuhunan" (from `puhunan`) is far more common.
