EN: paymaster; purser
Another blast from the Spanish colonial past. The pagador was the OG HR payroll guy. He was the person, usually on a ship or a hacienda, who held the cash box and paid everyone their wages. Think of him as the human ATM of his time. Now, this job is done by a department with software, but the essence remains: everyone loves the pagador on payday.
Spanish `pagador` (payer, paymaster).
Archaic. The modern equivalents are 'kahero' (cashier), 'tesorero' (treasurer), or simply 'tagapagbayad' or 'payroll officer'.
