The most fundamental life skill for any Filipino, more important than calculus or knowing how to change a tire. It's the sacred ritual of washing rice, measuring the water with your finger joints ('yung daliri method), and praying to the rice cooker gods that it doesn't turn into 'lugaw' (porridge) or 'tutong' (burnt rice).
