FIL: Ang pagpapakita ng labis na pagmamalaki o kayabangan sa sarili, madalas sa pamamagitan ng paghahambog sa salita.
EN: boasting; arrogance
This is the act of being 'mayabang' or 'hambog.' It's that person in the group project who talks a big game but doesn't do any work. It's the 'humble brag' taken to the next level, minus the 'humble' part. While 'pagmamalaki' can be about pride, `pagtatakap` has a more negative, annoying connotation. It's the verbal equivalent of flexing in the gym mirror for too long.
From `pag-` (prefix) + reduplication of the first syllable of `takap` (boastfulness, arrogance). The root itself is not commonly used.
A rare word; `kayabangan` or `kahambugan` are much more common synonyms.
