The ultimate "off with his head!" scenario. This phrase is straight out of a horror movie or a historical account of ancient punishments. It's also the classic description of a popular Filipino mythological creature, the "Pugot," a headless ghoul. So yeah, not a phrase you use lightly unless you're telling ghost stories.
'Pugot' by itself means 'decapitated' or 'severed'. The full phrase 'pugot ang ulo' is the most common and explicit form.
🇺🇸 There's a legend about a beheaded priest who haunts the old church.
