The Tagalog word for 'bullet'. It's a bit old-school; most people just say 'bala' now. You'd probably hear your lolo use 'punlo' when telling his war stories. Using it today makes you sound either very literary or very, very old.
Possibly from Spanish 'plomo' (lead), which was used to make bullets.
Considered a more archaic or literary term for 'bullet'. 'Bala' is the more common word.
🇺🇸 Only one bullet was left in his revolver.
🇺🇸 The shell of the bullet was found at the crime scene.
