The national anthem of the perpetually undecided. It's the 'seen-zone' of verbal commitments. 'Pupunta ka ba?' 'Siguro.' Translation: 'I'll go if I have no other options, the weather is perfect, my horoscope is aligned, and I feel like it.'
From Spanish 'seguro' (sure, certain), but ironically used in Tagalog to mean uncertainty.
Very common in daily conversation. Its meaning can range from a slight doubt to a strong probability depending on intonation.
🇺🇸 Maybe it will rain later, so bring an umbrella.
🇺🇸 I don't know yet if I'm coming, maybe.
