The male equivalent of a Tita. He's the one who asks "May boyfriend ka na?" at family reunions, gives you pamasko, and might be the designated driver or griller during outings.
Mula sa Espanyol na "tío".
Used as a direct address ('Tiyo, kamusta po?') or as a reference ('Kapatid siya ng tatay ko, tiyo ko siya.'). Often used with the person's name, e.g., 'Tiyo Ramon'. The more modern, colloquial term is 'Tito'.
